To celebrate the Queen's 90th Birthday Celebrations, Rydon School has held a cake competition. Lots of children took part and produced some amazing designs. The winner who was chosen by Mrs Green (Rydon's very own Mary Berry!) was Hannah in Year 1. Her fantastic 'Hat Cake' was then baked and decorated by Mrs Green and Hannah in preparation for the tea party.
The School Council have been busy making colourful invitations and inviting special guests such as the Mayor and his wife, Kingsteignton's Town Crier and members of the Governors. All the guests had a fantastic time; sampling home made scones; the winning chocolate and beetroot 'Hat Cake' and of course a lovely cup of tea! The School Council were fantastic hosts, helping to serve drinks and nibbles and even tidying up at the end!
