School Council Meeting: Travel Plan Update - 24.4.13

At the meeting today we shared all our recent news about how our travel plan is going. Look how busy we have been!
  • New bike and scooter sheds are due to be in place for September.
  • The school has 8 new balance bikes which will be used mainly in our Foundation Stage classes.
  • New scooters are on the way to the school.
  • Martin Burrows will set up balance bike activities and challenges for the children in Miss Currie's and Miss Banbury's class later in May.
  • Children in Years 1,2,3 & 4 will take part in scooter or bike skills sessions at the start of July.
  • Children in Year 3 will have class lesson's based on how they travel to school; Year 4 have already had theirs!
  • Year 6 will have a class lesson on how they may travel to their new secondary school next year.
  • (Children in Year 5 will continue to have the opportunity to take part in Bikeability training.)
  • The children in our bike club rode to the New Bridge in Newton Abbot, along the cycle paths.
  • A new survey was also created - Don't forget to take part in it...
  • We also discussed our new poster competition - see other post! Please can as many people take part as possible? Everyone can help the environment and be healthier!
