School Council Meeting: 14/10/14
Today's meeting focused on welcoming the new School Council Class Representatives to their roles.
Children were told their responsibilities as a School Councillor and that they would be receiving special badges in an assembly so that all children would know who the representatives were.
Mr Banwell attended this meeting so that he could ask for the School Council's help on reducing the amount of school rules so that the children would be able to remember them more easily. It was decided that the term 'school rules' would no longer be used and instead, a suggested title of 'The Rydon Way' would take its place. The School Council agreed that 'The Rydon Way' would be as follows -
- Always try your best and challenge yourself in your learning
- Treat others as you would like to be treated
- Be a positive role model for others
- Always be polite and show good manners
The Council also agreed that the new signs which should be placed both inside and outside school should be brighter and more eye-catching.
At the end of the meeting, the children were presented with blue books. We discussed how these could be used to collect good ideas to help improve the school.
